We are currently recruiting for one of the best global brands in International Development for an Assurance & Risk Advisor to enable consistent high performance within a rapid growth environment.

We are looking for fully-qualified Accountants with a background in external/internal audit from a leading accounting firm, who are passionate about International Development and want to work in a complex global environment for one of sector's fastest growing and highly acclaimed charities.

The Organisation

They also drive through political change to local and international governments and have become a strategic partner to global bodies such as the UN.

They have a tailored approach to international development, ensuring that they implement the tools possible for people to live long lives and not become dependant on charitable aid.

With backing from some of the world's biggest bands as well, they also have a huge celebrity following to support their future growth and funding needs.

The Role

In a newly created role reporting the the Head of Finance, you will develop an annual internal audit plan for UK and overseas offices and carry out internal audit assessments on all field offices annually.

You will advise UK Senior Management and the Audit Committee based on your findings and recommendations for relevant teams. You will promote best practice globally and controls and policies for all country offices to minimise financial risk in regards to legislation, such as Charities Act and Bribery Act.

You will be seen as a key member of the finance team and will be advising at the most senior level. You will need to develop excellent working relationships with both UK & overseas staff, including the Finance & Audit Committee.

This role will also give you the opportunity to travel overseas (up to 50% of the year), and as such you must be flexible to travel.

To be considered, you will be/have:

* Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or overseas equivalent) from a Top UK Accounting Firm.

* Excellent technical and analytical accounting skills coupled with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

* A strong desire to work within International Development and a passion for the cause.

* Experience of Charity Audit is beneficial, although not essential.

* Knowledge of French is also beneficial.

* You must be flexible to travel overseas to all countries the charity operates in.
