Our Surrey based client wishes to appoint a proven Senior Project Manager. You will provide assistance to (alleviate some of the work load) a Programme Manager who is already in post. The focus of your work will be to manage a portfolio of infrastructure and applications projects that are aimed at improving the manufacturing and supply chain side of this business.

Note that this client is a pharmaceutical company. Candidates with proven pharmaceutical or FMCG companies experience will have an advantage in securing this post.

This is a full project life cycle post. In particular you will be expected to work closely with or manage the activities of several well known 3rd party outsource providers. This may include managing and monitoring the key deliverables of other technical project managers provided by these 3rd parties.

It is expected that you will have in excess of 5 years Project Management experience at a senior level (but more than likely 10 years plus). You will have a track record of working in large recognised brand names in the pharma/FMCG's sector. You will need to have a strong knowledge of industry regulatory standards paying particular care towards safety standards, supply and production processes (of drugs manufacture).

You will be from a technical background as part of your earlier career; You will need to be technically hands off on the day job for this role but able to talk technical when required. Key systems in use are SAP, LAN/WAN etc and industry specific apps integrated with this.

Personal qualities will include resilience, open and confident to flag key issues to senior management. You will need an eye for detail and diligence. You will need to enjoy the challenge of juggling many plates at once (multiple smaller on going projects)!

This post is 90% Surrey based but will require trips to other European destinations - 2 to 3 day trips -approximately once a month. This will be for the purpose of managing stakeholder expectations, liaison with core 3rd parties and ensure technical solutions are fit for purpose.

This post will last for at least 12 months (it is early stages of a 3 year transformational programme).

The intention is for the post to start in mid to late April (as soon as a suitable candidate can be identified).
