The Company:
Our client operates as a topping refinery in the Europoort area. a distillation unit that can process gas condensates and light crude oils into Light and Heavy Naphtha, Kerosene/Jet Fuel, Gasoil/Diesel, Butane. The plant operates with 30 full time employees including 15 Process Operators and 17 Day shift, office employees. Various contractors support the facility in temporary and permanent capacities.
Position Purpose:
A vacancy has arisen for a Reliability Manager to join the team at our refinery. Suitable candidates will be team players who are willing to take a hands-on role while remaining able to see the broad picture. Candidates will possess a high level of initiative and will demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills. Candidates will have an interest in economic aspects of operating a plant.
The candidate is able:
- To effectively manage the reliability and maintenance of the asset within all applicable laws and procedures while meeting or exceeding facility objectives.
- To provide leadership, technical knowledge and maintenance experience towards achieving optimum safety, compliance, plant reliability, maintenance efficiencies, and engaged, high performing employees and (sub) contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the Maintenance & Reliability vision;
- Ensure compliance with legal, industry and standard maintenance practices;
- Maintain equipment to achieve production bets
- Build, maintain and ensure a pro-active plant culture.
- Lead and coordinate the Maintenance groups and sub-contractors;
- Ensure safe work practices (Work permits, adherence to TRA’s, Process Safety compliance, LOTO’s, MOC procedures, etc.);
- Ensure Maintenance databases (Maximo) are up to date and maintained;
- Coordinate TA’s;
- Own, lead and execute on Process Safety Management, Mechanical & Electrical Integrity programs;
- Ensure proper management of the DCS and PLC’s, plant IT infrastructure, software and hardware;
- Drive Continuous Improvement;
- Ensure proper documentation;
- Drive small improvement projects and assist in larger projects;
- High level expense control;
- Contractor Management;
- Inspections.
Candidate:
- Engineering Degree (B.Sc. or higher) plus minimal (5 year) industrial processing experience, or
- Proven capable to work at this level (Additional years of industrial processing and engineering, to compensate lower degree of Engineering education).
- Self-motivated & highly driven leader;

- High level of ownership & accountability
- Excellent communicator (understands the value of communication and is capable of communicating effectively);
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (written and spoken) is essential.
