Function information
The role is to provide support to the Financial Accountant in Belgium & Financial Controller for Western Europe with general accounting activities. This is a development role designed to offer the employee broad financial experience within a large US corporation while they study for their professional qualification, at the same time support the team with key financial tasks and allow succession planning.
- Assist in the maintenance of the General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers
- Preparation and agreement of Inter-Company Balances with other Cummins entities
- Reconciliation of Key Balance Sheet Accounts
- Assist with governmental Submissions
- Ownership of Accruals & Prepayments Reconciliations’
- Responsible for Quarterly Credit Note Audit
- Implementing Action Plans to Resolve Non Compliance Issues
- Controls & Compliance: Involvement in the Development & Implementation of a Testing Plan
- Assistance with Statutory, Quarterly and Year End Reporting
- Assist in the Maintenance of the Department’s Systems and Procedures
- Back-up for customer order releases
- Revenue recognition
- Regional roll out of certain processes (retaining ownership of some)
- To Provide Cover to Other Departmental Staff as Required
- Ad Hoc Investigations / Activities as Required
Requirements
- Basic Accounting qualification
- Preferred University Accounting or Business Degree
- Started or Planning to Study Towards a Professional Accounting Qualification
- First Experience working within a finance team is a plus
- Broad understanding of business needs
- Good analytical and communication skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Excellent excel software knowledge
- Accurate and detail oriented
- Experience with Oracle is an advantage
