Function information

Together with our client, a globally known company based in Diegem, we are looking for a Finance Compliance Officer (m/f). (Temporary contract of 1 year)

You will report to the Northern Europe Cluster Compliance Manager and you will act as a business partner for the local Finance Management team and the wider Compliance CoE Regional (EMEA) team.

In this role you will collaborate both within and outside the Finance community and you get the chance to significantly contribute to the continued success of the functioning of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a local Compliance Strategy
  • Ensure the control environment reflects the latest corporate requirements
  • Work closely with process owners to continuously improve their controls environment and report to senior management
  • Conduct the annual internal control ‘SOX’ testing within the required timelines
  • Ensure risks are identified, well managed and understood
  • Support in strategic projects
  • Ensure Corrective Action Plans are implemented timely
  • Prepare the organization for and manage successful internal audits
  • Implement and maintain the standardized SOX Documentation package within the Cluster
  • Ensure Corporate deadlines are achieved timely and efficiently
  • Execute Compliance training for the local Finance teams and maintain SOX awareness and focus
  • Manage and promote Compliance activities (Sarbanes-Oxley, Policy on Business Conduct , Business Continuity Planning , Records Management)
  • Other ad hoc requests for information

Requirements

• Recognized Professional Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CIA)

  • Relevant experience in a large multinational environment
  • Experience in “Big 4” practice preferred
  • Proven track record in leading and managing successful Sarbanes-Oxley compliance programs
  • Experience of assessing internal controls and communicating findings to a range of stakeholders
  • Highly motivated, proactive and results-driven team player
  • Proven ability to communicate with and influence people at all management levels
  • Analytical approach and a keen eye for detail with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication/coordination and project management skills
  • Resilient and flexible to change, ability to manage complex and ambiguous situations
  • Fluency in English
