Deputy Head of Legal & Compliance

For our client, a Swiss Branch of one of the largest banking institutions globally, we are looking for a Deputy Head of Legal & Compliance. This is a newly created role, where you will be engaged in transaction related work, as well as regulatory part, representing the Head of Legal & Compliance when necessary.  Great opportunity to join an expanding company.

• Provide timely advice and solutions on legal and compliance related matters to all business lines
• Advise on the bank’s transactions
• Implement regulations and advise on internal directives
• Control and monitor legal and compliance related risks
• Make staff aware of key legal/regulatory changes, provide training
• Advise on new products and services
• Support team on Swiss legal and regulatory issues
• Report to and represent the Head of Legal & Compliance

• Min. 5 years of experience in commercial banking industry in a Legal/Compliance related position
• Leadership qualities/experience
• Bachelors or Masters degree in law of a Swiss university (or similar if broad legal/Compliance experience in commercial banking in Switzerland)
• Good legal and regulatory knowledge in the area of commercial banking
• Strong and confident team player with good communication skills, open minded for other cultures
• Structured way of working with good organizational skills
• Next to a Swiss related language, working proficiency in English is a must
