For one of our clients a commodity trading company based in Vaud. We are looking to recruit an Operator with strong sales experience.
Key responsibilities
- Direct contact with customers and suppliers
- Written and verbal contacts with suppliers, and service providers
- Coordinating the shipments with our customers and supplier
- Coordinating the shipments loading, unloading together with forwarders and inspection companies
- Getting the releases from the bank to unload the cargo to the bonded warehouses
- Preparing for all necessary documentation (holding certificates, releases, transport documents, invoices, etc.)
- Arranging customs clearance in various bonded warehouses by supplying necessary documents and fund transfer for VAT and Duty and coordinating finance department for necessary fund transfer
- Checking supplier and service provider’s invoices
Shipping
- Arranging for the various international transport by sea, rail, and truck
- Insuring the cargo/transport
- Checking and calculating demurrage/ dispatch
- Being in regular contact with brokers, shipping agents, stevedores
Internal work
- Checking and updating various shipping positions,
- Working closely with traders and our various departments of finance, accounting, hedging
- Reporting insurance and stock position reports
Required Profile
- Accurate, efficient and meticulous working style with good attention to details and complete the daily work is essential.
- Fluent in Italian and English is mandatory
- Forward-thinking personality with a natural aptitude to anticipate the needs of the customer and finding innovative solutions.
- Ability to work both in an independent, proactive manner and within a team environment
- Ability to be flexible but also capable of prioritizing the workload to deadlines by taking into consideration the needs of the customer and motivated to succeed in a highly pressured environment
