Head of Accounting

For our client, a global medical company, we are looking for the Head of Accounting. This is an exciting position in an established Finance team of a global player.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interfacing with Finance and Business managers, Corporate Finance staff and external auditors
• Manage adherence and compliance with corporate and legal accounting policies as well as financial controls
• Performing effective accounting of all transactions with full responsibility for general ledger, asset and project accounting, including reviewing/approving journal entries and execution reports and performing reconciliations
• Managing the periodic financial close processes and reviewing preliminary financial statements including month-end reports, execution reports, and month-to-date and year-to-date analysis
• Overseeing capital and fixed assets, including review of monthly reports, asset depreciation, validation asset transfer details and deactivation and further
• Engaging and managing the performance and productivity of the team by setting clear targets and providing a supportive and transparent feedback culture
• Ensuring compliance with internal control policies, IFRS, and Swiss GAAP
• Participating in strategic financial projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or another related field, MBA or a CPA preferred
• 5+ years of Accounting experience, preferably with management exposure
• Acute and bright thinker and doer with a very high capacity of execution in a dynamic global environment
• Energetic and proactive person with strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to cope with time pressure in demanding situations
• Fluent German and English skills
• Strong technical accounting skills with demonstrated experience in IFRS and Swiss GAAP as well as extensive working experience with SAP and SAP BW
